Honey Lavender Calming Biscuits
I’ve been researching calming treats lately because I have some big trips coming up! I don’t want the dogs to be super anxious while I’m gone and I can’t rely on dog sitters to apply their essential oils and give their medicine as necessary. As I have found calming treats online and in stores, I noticed that most of them contain CBD oil but not much else. So, I decided to make my own natural treats!
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 free-range, large egg
2 ½ cups organic whole wheat flour
¾ cups nonfat milk
2 tablespoons USDA organic honey
3 drops lavender essential oil
Add a dash of your favorite supplement! Here are a few of ours: Solid Gold sea kelp, The Missing Link omegas, Matrix mushroom powder, or other supplement
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 °F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and peanut butter.
Add in the flour and baking powder to make a sticky dough.
Drizzle honey on the mixture, drip your lavender essential oil, and mix in by using your hands to work in the last ingredients.
Flour a work surface and roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into desired sizes depending on the size of your dog.
Bake on a foil-lined baking tray at 325°F for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. (Dog biscuits can also be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.)
