How to Throw an Epic Dog Birthday Party

I love getting creative when it comes to party planning. Before we had kids, I treated my dogs like they were my children. It is not a surprise that I threw Abbie a birthday party and invited her Instagram friends to attend! We even had some people travel a couple of hours to join us!

We obviously decided that pawty favors were in order to celebrate our Abbie girl! We love our furiends and followers and we wanted to show them just how much we appreciated their attendance. We gave each guest a tennis ball, gluten-free treats and chews, and a squeaky toy or rope toy. We got these together the night before.

Our next step was to make posters and buy balloons to really spruce it up! (And yes, I had Abbie wearing her tutu for about 2 weeks because I thought it was that cute!) We decorated the table with organic hooman food and drinks, bubbles for the pups, treats, and organic, grain-free pupcakes.

The bubbles weren’t as big of a success as I thought but some of the dogs loved chasing them in the wind (specifically the hunting dogs). Oh, and did I mention that pawty hats were a thing?! We obviously couldn’t keep them on the dogs but at least we got a few good photos.

If you are going to throw a dog birthday party, you have to provide pupcakes for the pooches! Am I right or am I right? I found a great DIY receipt online, spiced it up a bit, and had Abbie taste test them before we fully committed. She approved and gave my recipe 4 paws of approval! Needless to say, the pupcakes were huge hit and left the pawty goers beggin’ for seconds (and we gladly gave into those puppy eyes)! Haha.

The turnout was amazing so thank you all who attended! I know Abbie felt loved.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on puppy pawties! Comment below if you love the idea or have even thrown one yourself. If you have some great ideas for our fellow dog moms out there, please share!
